How to Merge PDF Files
Combining PDFs is useful when several documents belong to one packet, report or submission.
When should you merge PDFs?
Merge files when recipients should receive one ordered document instead of several attachments. Common examples include contracts with exhibits, reports with appendices, application packets, invoices with supporting records and multi-batch scans.
Prepare files before merging
Open each source file and confirm that the pages are complete and in the intended orientation. Rename local files if that helps you understand their order. Remove accidental pages before merging when practical.
Merge the files
Upload the first PDF to PDF85, choose Merge PDF and add the remaining files. After processing, download the combined result and verify page order.
What to do after merging
If the combined PDF is too large for email or a portal, run Compress PDF. If a page is sideways, use Rotate PDF. If the packet includes pages that should be removed, use Remove Pages.
